Visit to Aaron Grange Care Home

by Cathy Sheel

Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care Cllr Del Arnall was welcomed by staff and residents during a visit to Aaron Grange Care Home in Huyton.

Cllr Arnall was given a tour of Aaron Grange at Blacklow Brow, Huyton, which is owned and operated by Hill Care Ltd and offers residential, nursing and dementia care.

During the visit staff highlighted their commitment to a creating person-centred, non-clinical environment for their residents. Successful collaboration with Knowsley Council has led to the home opening up new general and dementia nursing provision.

Most of the Aaron Grange team are long-serving members of staff – with the majority being Knowsley residents.

“I was immediately struck by the homely feel of Aaron Grange,” commented Cllr Arnall during the visit.

Her visit coincided with a celebration for a resident’s 90th birthday, complete with a lively sing-along led by staff and residents.

Cllr Arnall also spoke to a visiting family member, who spoke highly of the service, staff and the location of the home.
