Together We Care is the new name for Knowsley Council’s in-house services providing support for adults with complex care and support needs.
The new title reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to supporting adults with social care needs in Knowsley and replaces the previous name Adult Provider Services. Together We Care encompasses four of the council’s in-house services. They are:
- Adult Day Services which provide a range of opportunities and leisure-based services for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, physical disabilities and sensory needs at six activity bases in Kirkby, Huyton, Stockbridge and Halewood.
- Adult Respite Service provides planned short break and emergency respite care for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, physical disabilities and sensory needs at specialist accommodation in Huyton and Kirkby.
- Supported Living supports adults with learning or physical disabilities to live as independently as possible in their homes or in the community.
- Shared Lives recruits carers to provide home-based care for adults who have long-term support needs.
Alongside the new title the strapline ‘Supporting lives to achieve and thrive’ underpins the person-centred approach of the services which work to empower and enable each individual to participate and be involved in their local communities.
The rebrand is a key part of the service transformation programme which has involved extensive consultation with staff and service users.
Cllr Del Arnall, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said: “The new title for our in-house services for adults with support needs reinforces our commitment to working together with our service users to provide high-quality, person-centred and responsive services.
“This rebrand is also testament to our journey of continuous improvement and our work to become even more efficient and responsive to the needs of the people we support.”
