Knowsley Council has appointed Jenny Rollinson as its new Executive Director for Health and Social Care (HASC). Jenny started work in Knowsley in 2017 when she took up the role of Service Manager for Early Intervention and Prevention. She later became Head of Adult Social Care, before moving into her current position as Assistant Executive Director of Adult Social Care in 2021.
In her most recent role, Jenny was pivotal in achieving a ‘Good’ Care Quality Commission inspection outcome, with Knowsley achieving a score of 75 and ranking joint 4th nationally.
Throughout her career, Jenny has built significant experience of designing, implementing and leading system change whilst simultaneously managing large complex operational services.
She said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed to this new role in a place I love and where I have had the pleasure of working for nearly a decade. Delivering the very best services and support for our residents is, and always has been, my top priority and I feel privileged to be able to lead the wonderful health and social care department and continue to serve the residents of the borough.”
Jenny began her career in local government in 2006 as part of the National Graduate Development Programme and has remained in the sector ever since. In addition to her experience in Knowsley she has also spent time working at Stockport and Oldham Councils predominantly in senior adult social care and health roles. Jenny lives in Salford with her husband and two young children.
Cllr Del Arnall, Knowsley Council Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said: “I am delighted that after a robust recruitment process Jenny has been appointed to this position. It is only right that we tested the market to ensure we found the best possible candidate for this role. I am pleased to say that we had a really strong field of applicants, so it really is testament to Jenny’s experience and approach that she came out on top.”
Cllr Chris Bannon, Knowsley Council Cabinet Member for Health added: “Having worked closely with Jenny over a number of years I have no doubt that her appointment as Executive Director is a really positive one for Knowsley. Her impact on the services and support we provide is already clear to see and I am looking forward to continuing to work with her in the coming months and years. Congratulations Jenny.”
Jenny will commence her new role with immediate effect.
