Funding available for households to switch from heating oil to heat pumps

by Jonathan Kearney

Households in Knowsley which use heating oil may be eligible to receive a £9,000 grant to switch to a heat pump this summer, potentially offering significant savings on household energy bills.

From 21 July the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant is being increased by 20%, from £7,500 to £9,000, to help households based in more rural areas to make the move from heating oil to a heat pump.

In Knowsley this affects around 400 homes.

The scheme will electrify families’ heating, protecting them from fossil fuel price spikes and providing greater certainty over energy bills.

Eligible homes will receive a leaflet from the Government with more information on how to claim the funding.
