Ford Halewood has committed to recruiting 10 new apprentices this September.
Knowsley Works will support Ford with the apprentice recruitment, providing opportunities for Knowsley residents.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, recently visited the Halewood plant along with local MPs Derek Twigg, Maria Eagle and Paula Barker.
Over the last four years Ford has invested around £380m in electric power units at the Halewood plant to support the production of new electric vehicles across Europe.
Ford Philanthropy also continues to support community organisations in Halewood, across the borough and surrounding areas. In recent years grant funding has been provided to Torrington Drive Community Association (TDCA), Centre 63, Evolving Mindset CIC, Huyton Initiative 4 Youth Activities, Tailored Advice Services in Communities, The First Step Ltd, Vee’s Place, L14 Community Ltd and The Park Pantry.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “Ford continues to show its commitment to the Halewood plant through investment, employment opportunities for Knowsley residents and the support for local community organisations.”
