Free activities for children and young people in Knowsley this summer

by Jonathan Kearney

Children and young people across Knowsley can once again look forward to a range of FREE healthy activities throughout the summer holidays as part of the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme.

Thousands of HAF places will be accessible across the borough, with activities offered by a variety of different providers.

The HAF programme, delivered by Knowsley SNAP, offer a wide range of free activities, with a meal included as part of each session.

This year parents of pupils will be receiving a voucher code to redeem against HAF funded schemes – these will come directly from each child’s school they will then be able to book onto events using a dedicated booking system that is accessed via the vouchers they have been receiving from their childs school.  You can find details of the full programme, including how to book and a map showing activity locations, on the One Knowsley website.

Activities will take place between Tuesday 25 July and Friday 25 August.

Cllr Margaret Harvey, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “It’s brilliant to see children and young people across Knowsley are taking advantage of the fantastic free activities on offer during the school holidays. These activities can be genuinely life-changing and provide opportunities that may otherwise have not been available.”

Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: “There are some fantastic opportunities for children and young people to take advantage of and I know families really appreciate the support. Many of the activities will expose people to completely new experiences and I’m sure they’ll have plenty of fun taking part.”
