A local Knowsley business has made a significant donation to the Mayor of Knowsley’s chosen charity, Friends of Bluebell Park.

Alfred H Knight pledged its £3,000 donation at the 2022 Knowsley Business Awards, where a total of £10,000 was raised to support Friends of Bluebell Park. The charity provides educational, recreational, and sensory activities, experiences, equipment and resources for children and young people with disabilities.

Last week, Mayor of Knowsley, Cllr Eddie Connor, visited Alfred H Knight and was presented with a cheque by Chief Executive Officer, Ian Baxter. The company very generously added a further £1,000 to their initial pledge taking their total donation to £4,000.

The Mayor was also given a tour of the company’s state of the art laboratories at its headquarters at Kings Business Park, Prescot. The family-owned business provides independent inspection, analysis and consultancy services to the metals and minerals, solid fuels and agriculture industries across the globe.

Ian Baxter, Chief Executive Officer said: “Alfred H Knight runs various initiatives across the year to support our local communities, as well as our colleague’s efforts fundraising for local and national charities so it is our pleasure to be able to support Friends of Bluebell Park.”
