The M62 eastbound exit slip road at Junction 6 (exiting the M62 from Liverpool travelling in the direction of Manchester) will remain closed until the middle of November.
Traffic will continue to be diverted to the M62 Junction 7 and return to Tarbock Island via the M62 Junction 7 westbound entry slip road and the M62 westbound carriageway.
All possible steps are being taken to minimise ongoing disruption but there will be some unavoidable delays to journeys. Drivers are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, or choose alternative routes where possible.
The next phase of the project began on Monday 14 October with lane closures on Windy Arbor Road, the M57 southbound exit slip and a section of Tarbock Island. The works are programmed between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm to avoid peak travel times and these closures will be in place until Friday 25 October.
From Monday 28 October, Windy Arbor Road will be closed to southbound traffic (between Juniper Avenue and Tarbock Island) for six weeks.
Work will also commence on the westbound Cronton Road approach to Tarbock Island which will begin on Monday 28 October and run up until Friday 20 December.

This work is part of a major investment programme to improve the flow of traffic and journey times at this busy junction. The work will create additional capacity by increasing the number of lanes on the approaches to the roundabout, as well as widening the roundabout itself.
This initial improvement work is being funded through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund (SIF).
