The Knowsley Apprentice programme has recently recruited 54 young people into a range of apprenticeship vacancies across the Borough.
Roles were available across a range of industries and sectors, including engineering, roofing, groundwork, joinery, childcare, administration, housing, IT Support, teaching assistant and sport coaching.
Apprenticeships offer a range of benefits for school leavers, providing them with on-the-job training, earning a wage, learning and gaining a qualification and often can secure employment once their apprenticeship finishes.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “The Knowsley Apprentice programme has been a key part of the Council’s work to improve employment opportunities in the borough for a number of years.
“The success of the programme has meant that thousands of young people have been supported into work and while continuing to train and gain further qualifications.
“I’m delighted that already this year a further 54 young people have secured an apprenticeship, and I wish them well as they start on their career path.”
