Ultrafast fibre broadband coming to Huyton Village Centre

by Jonathan Kearney

Huyton Village Centre is soon to benefit from a full-fibre, ultrafast, gigabit-capable, broadband network as part of the LCR Connect project.

Installation of the ultrafast up to 10gbps network infrastructure will take place along Derby Road in April 2023.

Once installation is complete it will enable local businesses to access the benefits of the ultrafast gigabit-capable network when it launches across the City Region.

The LCR Connect project will connect all local authorities within the Liverpool City Region with 212km of full-fibre, ultrafast, gigabit-capable network infrastructure, which LCR Connect suggest could potentially provide an economic boost worth up to £1bn, creating thousands of local job and training opportunities in the region.

The installation, which supports the wider regeneration of Huyton Village Centre, will also help to promote the Village Centre as a destination for digital businesses.

Make CIC, who are due to open in the former Mayfair Cinema during April, will be the first to benefit from an ultrafast connection as part of the LCR Connect Social Value Fund.

Kirkby and Prescot town centres are also due to benefit from the LCR Connect rollout later this year.
