Are you looking for work? Here’s how the Knowsley Offer could help…

by Guy Murphy

Residents looking for employment opportunities can find a wealth of information, guidance, and support via The Knowsley Offer.

A key outcome for the Knowsley 2030 Strategy is ensuring the borough has a thriving, inclusive economy with opportunities for people and business. To support this, a range of partners are working hard to ensure employment and training opportunities are available to all. A recent report to The Knowsley Better Together Board covered some of the work taking place in this area. Read more here.

Knowsley Works is the Council’s employment service and provides support to both residents looking for job and employers who are looking to recruit.

The team offers a wide range of free advice and support, and over the last year has helped 1,320 people into employment and facilitated local employers to fill 2,119 vacancies

Residents who have been unemployed for 12 months or longer can access specialist support via the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s The Households into Work programme. More than 4,000 people have been supported by the programme since it began in 2018, with most gaining improved personal resilience and over half progressing on to formal education, training or other skills development.

For younger residents, there are a wide range of post-16 and school leaver opportunities. From apprenticeships to internships, there are courses available whatever the circumstances.
