Supporting Knowsley residents with SEND, learning disabilities, autism, and other Neurodiverse conditions into employment

by Cathy Sheel

Knowsley Council is hosting a free supported employment and networking event for local businesses and professionals to find out more about how they can support Knowsley residents to prepare for adulthood and move into employment.

The event, which takes place on Thursday 25 May from 10am until 1pm, will bring together key stakeholders to raise awareness of supported employment opportunities for Knowsley residents with Special Educational Needs and / or Disabilities (SEND), learning disabilities, autism, and other Neurodiverse conditions.

Attendees will hear from Knowsley pupils, teachers and businesses, who will be sharing their experiences of the world of work and the benefits of supported employment for both the employer and employee.

Supporting young people to prepare for adulthood is a key priority for Knowsley Council and the team will be discussing this and its themes – employment, independent living, community inclusion and health.
