Knowsley Council is supporting We Are Undefeatable, the national campaign inspiring and encouraging people with a range of long-term health conditions to move more.
Being Undefeatable is understanding that how you feel can change from day-to-day and sometimes that can make moving feel like a challenge.
It may be that being active seems like a big commitment or something that doesn’t feel like it’s for you – and that’s okay.
The truth is that you can start small, and you do not have to get moving when you don’t feel up to. Ultimately, being active is about finding what works for you.
The key is to get started:
- Find activities you enjoy
- Start slowly and build up
- Make the most of your good days
- Move more
The campaign is aimed at people living with Arthritis, MS, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Also, those living with Asthma, Back pain, Cancer, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease/Lung Condition, Heart Disease, Stroke, hypertension (or other heart related condition), Type 1 Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes and long-term depression or anxiety – to name but a few.
It is important to remember that everybody and how their condition affects them is different and finding the appropriate physical activity for you depends on your own personal circumstance.
There are lots of great ideas to help you get started and moving more on the We Are Undefeatable website.
