Work to safeguard adults with care and support needs has been outlined in Knowsley’s Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report.
Members of the council’s Health and Wellbeing Board endorsed the report which is published each year to provide an overview of the multi-agency efforts to protect adults in Knowsley from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
The KSAB’s vision is for all residents to live lives free from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation, protecting their rights and contributing to the Health and Wellbeing Board’s goal for happier, healthier lives.
Key findings and actions
The report highlights the work of the multi-agency partnership in monitoring and evaluating local safeguarding arrangements. Key highlights include:
- Positive Performance: Overall findings from audits, case studies, and performance data reviewed by the KSAB are positive, indicating good practice across the partnership.
- Learning from Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR): A crucial area for development has been identified following a Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) known as ‘Alice.’ The review highlighted that hearing the ‘voice of the adult’ and ensuring their perspective is central to safeguarding and support.
- New procedures, practice guidance, and targeted training have been developed to share learning and improve person-centred safeguarding practice across all agencies.
- A co-produced community event in Prescot Town Centre during Safeguarding Adults Week (17 – 21 Nov) will showcase innovative partnership work and offers a vital opportunity to raise awareness and ensure continuous learning and improvement in safeguarding adults at risk.
