Open days at Make Huyton Village

by Jonathan Kearney

The newly opened Make Huyton Village is inviting people interested in a creative studio space to come along for a tour and to find out more about getting involved.

Make Huyton Village, which opened last month in the former Boots unit on Derby Road, is hosting a series of open days in June and July.

The 7,000 sq ft ‘maker’ space offers private studios and shared workspace making, learning, exploring and sharing.

Make Huyton Village features a high-tech innovation lab, allowing members of the community to experiment with making and product creation.

Open days will be held on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 21 June – 10.30am-1.30pm
  • Saturday 24 June – 11am-3pm
  • Tuesday 11 July – 2.30pm-5.30pm
  • Saturday 22 July – 11am-3pm

Tours will last 15 to 30 minutes and begin on the hour and half past the hour at the front of Make Huyton Village, 47-49 Derby Road, during open day hours.

The tours will conclude at ‘Make on the Corner’ at 22 Derby Road, used as a ‘pop-up’ retail and community space, showcasing and supporting ‘makers’ to take their first step into making and selling outside of the home.

Tours are free and you can book a place on one of the open days here.
