Casa Rima restaurant outsideA new restaurant – Casa Rima – is to open in Halewood later this month (June 2023).

Located on Baileys Lane, the restaurant will offer Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine in the unit previously occupied by William Hill bookmakers, following extensive refurbishment and an extension of the property.

Casa Rima will offer a fantastic variety of dishes, including delicious, chargrilled meats and pizzas made from scratch on site. The venue also boasts an extensive wine and cocktail menu.

Casa Rima can accommodate up to 100 diners, indoors and outdoors, and will feature a private function room that can also be booked during the day for business meetings.

Owner Baris Coskuncay already runs a successful restaurant – Casa Roni – on Mather Avenue in Allerton. He said: “We get a lot of customers from Halewood travelling to our restaurant in Allerton, so we know there is lots of demand in Halewood. Halewood is a large town with a growing  population but not many places for people to eat out locally, so it made perfect sense for us – especially with all the new investment coming into Halewood. We are really excited about our new venture and we are looking forward to welcoming lots of residents through the doors in the coming weeks and months.”

Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Baris to Halewood and I know that many of our residents will be too.  We know from talking to our residents that they want to be able to eat out locally so I am sure many will be eager to visit Casa Rima very soon. We are hopeful this will be the first of many new restaurants to arrive in the coming years.

“In addition to the 1,300 new homes currently being built in Halewood the town is also set to benefit from over £30 million of further investment in the coming years. This will help to support the expansion of the town’s retail offer, provide new and improved sports and leisure facilities, enhancements to green spaces, increased primary school capacity and early years childcare, provide new and enhanced walking and cycling routes and improve local roads and infrastructure. It is a really exciting time for Halewood and this new opening is great news. I’m sure we can look forward to more new businesses opening their doors in the town in the coming years.”

Knowsley Council conducted a consultation with residents, businesses, visitors and other stakeholders in Halewood just prior to Christmas and has since been developing more detailed investment plans for the town. Further consultation will take place on these plans in the near future.
