New Inflatable Park and Food and Drink Market to open in Kirkby Town Centre

by Comms Team

Fun 1st Entertainment Limited will be bringing a new inflatable park, along with a food and drink market, to Kirkby Town Centre, occupying a two-storey building on Cherryfield Drive.

The ground floor will host an inflatable park and arcade, with the “Newtown Food and Drink Market” to be located on the first floor offering a number of food options along with a bar and live music/entertainment.

The new centre will provide a great leisure offer for children and young people and an ideal location for birthday parties and other celebrations.

In March 2020, Knowsley Council asked Kirkby residents and visitors “What makes a good town centre?”.  As well as a better choice of shops and places to eat and drink, activities for young people were also highlighted as a priority.

Councillor Tony Brennan, Regeneration and Economic Development Cabinet Member, said: “I’m delighted that we are able to bring this new and different offer to Kirkby Town Centre.

“This announcements shows yet again that we have listened to and acted on the views of local residents and visitors.  Following the openings of the new retail businesses and of course Morrisons, it couldn’t be clearer that we really have stepped in to deliver the things which local people wanted us to deliver in Kirkby Town Centre.

“I know that this will be a hugely popular attraction for people of all ages.  It will provide not only fun and healthy activity but also a place to meet up socially over a bite to eat and a drink.

“I am really looking forward to Fun 1st Entertainment opening their doors and providing this unique offer in Kirkby.”

The operator of Fun 1st Entertainment, Alex Tunstall, added, “I’m really looking forward to opening in Kirkby.  It’s a town that is undergoing major transformation and I’m delighted to be part of it.

“We will provide something different for residents and visitors and I’m really looking forward to welcoming people into our new venture in Kirkby.”

Internal works will shortly be carried out and the new facility is expected to open later in 2023.
