Knowsley Council and Citizens Advice Knowsley are working together to make residents aware of financial support they could be entitled to.

Pension Credit is worth, on average, over £4,000 a year and people claiming Pension Credit may automatically be entitled to:

  • Apply for a free TV licence if you’re 75 or over
  • Get cold weather payments
  • Get help with NHS costs if you get the Guarantee Credit part of Pension Credit. This can include prescriptions, dental treatment and glasses

How to claim Pension Credit

You will need the following information ready:

  • Your National Insurance number
  • Information about your income, savings and investments
  • Your bank account details

What is Pension Credit?

It’s a payment to top up your income.  You can apply for it when you reach state pension age. How much you could get depends on the value of your current state pension, other income and any savings you may have.
