Parents, carers, children and young people, education settings, and wider professionals are encouraged to complete a short survey to help shape Knowsley’s Local SEND Reform Plan. The survey takes around 15 minutes and closes at 5pm on Friday 29 May 2026.
The UK government published major proposals for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) reforms in England earlier this year, setting out a national ambition to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND and to create a more inclusive, consistent and sustainable system.
As part of the preparations for the reforms, the Knowsley SEND Partnership is developing its Local SEND Reform Plan. This plan will set out how the council and its partners strengthen SEND support across education, health and care over the coming years.
As part of a wider engagement programme, a short survey has been developed to inform the plan and ensure that a broad and diverse range of voices is captured.
The survey seeks views on how SEND services are currently working in practice, what improvement activity is already underway, and what should be the key priorities for Knowsley as part of the Local SEND Reform Plan.
The views of those who access SEND support and services, as well as those who deliver them, are essential to ensuring the plan reflects local experiences and provision.
