Northwood Community Primary School in Kirkby has received a £5,000 donation from a local business.

The school received the donation from the Amazon team in Knowsley.

Sarah Murphy, from Northwood Community Primary School, said: “We are very thankful for this donation from Amazon that will help us continue to provide an exceptional level of education for our pupils.

“The donation will be used to enhance our outdoor areas, in particular our forest school area which will be fitted with a brand-new outdoor classroom and permanent shelter. We bought a greenhouse for our school gardeners which is now up and running, and we bought tools and a timber raised pond for our forest school.”

In addition to community donations Amazon has supported more than 500,000 students across the UK with free computer science and STEM education programmes through their Amazon Future Engineer programme.

Christian Stewart, Site Leader at Amazon in Knowsley, said: “We look forward to developing our relationship with these and other important organisations in the local community and hope to keep having a positive impact on our neighbours.”
