Landmarks in Knowsley will be illuminated in the coming days to mark the anniversary of the deaths of Olivia Pratt-Korbel and Ashley Dale.
On Friday 21 August the Greystone Bridge over the M62 and Archway Road Bridge in Huyton will be lit up in pink, orange and green to mark the fourth anniversary of the death of Ashley Dale, a Knowsley Council employee.
On Saturday 22 August the bridge landmarks will illuminated in pink in memory of Olivia Pratt-Korbel.
Olivia, who lived in Liverpool, attended St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Huyton.
The thoughts of everyone at Knowsley Council are with Olivia and Ashley’s friends and family at this time.
Legacy
From the tragedy of both deaths, the courage and determination of mums Cheryl Korbel and Julie Dale has led to positive change in our society.
Committed campaigning by Cheryl has led to ‘Olivia’s Law’ gaining Royal Ascent this year and being made into Law. This grants courts the power to use reasonable force to make reluctant criminals face victim’s families and attend sentencing hearings.
Julie Dale, mother of Ashley Dale, was the inspiration behind the Council’s innovative Be the Change programme, which since its launch in 2024 has already directly benefited over 5,000 Knowsley residents.
