Many people are taking on caring responsibilities for their relatives and friends who are disabled, ill or older and who need support. So, the theme for this year’s day – ‘Know your rights, use your rights – will help empower them to feel confident when seeking information about what they’re entitled to in terms of support and benefits.
What’s happening in Knowsley?
Knowsley Carers Hub based at 143 Bewley Drive, Kirkby, L32 9PE is holding a drop-in advice session on Thursday, 20th November between 11am and 2.00pm. Carers can pop in for a cake and a cuppa – and have their questions answered by the team.
The hub offers a range of services to support unpaid carers who live in Knowsley or care for a Knowsley resident. These include:
- information and advice, including how to access a Carers Assessment
- benefits advice
- carers ID and emergency cards
- training activities, social group and breaks
- counselling
