Improvement works to be delivered at Kirkby’s Saxon Green

by Jonathan Kearney

Flood mitigation and landscape improvement works are to be undertaken at Saxon Green, adjacent to Linnet Way and Simonswood Brook, Kirkby.

The works are designed to improve the resilience and accessibility of the existing footpath while providing flood mitigation and environmental enhancements.

Works are scheduled to commence during the week commencing 24 August 2026 and expected to be completed by the week commencing 25 September 2026, subject to weather conditions.

To undertake the works safely, sections of the public footpath will require temporary closure. Clearly signed diversion routes will be provided where necessary. Pedestrian management measures will be in place throughout the works to maintain public safety.

Every effort will be made by contractors to minimise inconvenience to local residents and users of the open space.

The contractor will coordinate activities to reduce disruption and maintain safe access wherever possible.

Some construction vehicles, plant movements and associated noise may be experienced during working hours, between 8am and 5pm.
