Help to create the Knowsley is 50 timeline

by Lisa Bennett

This year, Knowsley – the Borough and the Council – turned 50 and to mark this occasion, a series of celebratory events and special moments will take place throughout the year.

Already we’ve seen the Spark! Drummers and Walk the Plank illuminate our town centres and Prescot town centre will once again host the popular Elizabethan Fayre on Saturday 8 June 2024 (from 11am until 5pm).

Plus, there’s the Knowsley Feelgood Festival (on 3 August) and Knowsley Flower Show (on 4 August) returning to Court Hey Park, with the Serious Nonsense Festival returning to Prescot this summer.

Also over the summer, a commemorative timeline will be created, capturing key events, moments, memories and initiatives over the last 50 years.

Can you help to create it?

You can help to create the timeline by sharing your stories, achievements, highlights, memories or key events you attended in the Borough from 1974 to the current day.

Simply share your ideas here with a brief summary, any photos or images and the date it relates to by Friday 12 July 2024.

You can keep up-to-date with the latest Knowsley at 50 programme by visiting www.knowsleynews.co.uk/knowsleyis50.
