Healthy Heart Walkers celebrate milestone anniversary

by Cathy Sheel

Court Hey Park’s Healthy Heart Walkers have celebrated 20 years of stepping out in one of Knowsley’s best loved parks.

The Healthy Heart Walkers group marked its 20th anniversary with a celebratory buffet and the sharing of commemorative items. The celebration was attended by members, past and present – including a presentation of thanks to Noel as one of the original members who is still walking every week.

Local councillors, Knowsley Council Leader Cllr Graham Morgan and the Mayor of Knowsley, Cllr Ken McGlashan were also welcomed to the event.

The group, established in 2005 as a cardiac rehabilitation walk, has expanded over the years into the flourishing group it now is. The group is open to everyone and encourages people to socialise and exercise in the outdoors, led by Knowsley Council’s Green Space Ranger.

The group meets every Monday at 11am (except Bank Holidays) in the car park at Court Hey Park and new members are welcome.
