An Hour for Others has expanded it’s offer in Huyton Village Centre.
Located at Units 1 and 7 in Sherborne Square, there’s a refurbished clothing charity shop and also a preloved furniture shop, a new digital IT suite and community spaces delivering a range of engaging activities.
Residents and visitors can use the IT digital suite free of charge, with access to WiFi and PCs enabling you to access so much more – from finding and applying for jobs, online banking, online shopping or just staying connected with family and friends.
There’s also a community space on the upper floor, where a range of youth development programmes are delivered, as well as employability courses, children’s craft sessions, ladies empower groups, coffee afternoons and a weekly “brekkie and brew”.
An Hour for Others is open from Monday to Saturday 10am until 4pm.
You can find the full programme of events at www.anhourforothers.co.uk or pop into the shop to find out more.
Andrea from An Hour for Others said: “We are delighted to bring this vast community offer to Huyton and open our doors right here in the heart of the Village Centre.
“It was really important for us to deliver something in the local community for the local community and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved.
“Particularly with the community space, our aim is to bring the community together and inspire positive change.
“We are delighted to be supported by Livv housing Group, Knowsley’s Be the change programme and Knowsley Council.”
“We will continue to develop and expand our offer to ensure it is aligned to the community’s needs.
“Our aim is to empower and enrich people’s lives so do please pop in and see what we have to offer.”
Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: “Knowsley Council’s Be the Change project is making a meaningful difference to people’s lives and having a positive impact in the communities they live in. Be the Change highlights the positive opportunities available to people in the borough and helps steers them away from those involved in serious and organised crime. As one of the new delivery partners for Be the Change I know that An Hour for Others can really benefit the wider community.”
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added: “I’m delighted to hear about another great offer in Huyton Village Centre, aligned to the needs of the local community, and I wish An Hour for Others every success with this venture.”
