Bloom Childcare, a new children’s day nursery and out-of- school club officially opened their doors in Kirkby town centre yesterday (1 September 2026).
Located at 40 St Chad’s Parade, Bloom Childcare has expanded their offer in Knowsley to provide a childcare facility on the high street.
Cllr Edna Finneran, Mayor of Knowsley, attended the opening and said “I was delighted to attend the opening of Bloom Childcare today. Their childcare offer will be a very welcome addition to the high street and I wish them the very best of luck with their latest venture.”
The new 1,302 sq ft unit spans two floors with the ground floor ready to welcome babies and children from 1 September.
Owner, Mark Johnson, said “I’m delighted to be opening in Kirkby town centre today. We have a central location with lots of free car parking close by so whether parents are travelling by car or public transport, we are easy to get to. Please do pop in and see our offer – our staff would be happy to show you around and answer any questions.”
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added “I’m delighted to welcome Bloom Childcare to Kirkby town centre, offering early years childcare provision.
“We have a blossoming child-friendly offer in the town centre, with Made to be Mum and Lindsey’s Art Shed established in the town centre, providing a range of services and activities for children of all ages and their families, and Bloom Childcare is a welcome addition to that offer.
“It’s great to see the diverse offer now available in Kirkby and the range of new businesses that have recently opened. As well as Bloom Childcare, we’ve recently welcomed a new restaurant – Casa Roni, The Works and Knowsley FACE. Plus Monkey Town will be opening next month and work has started on Lidl’s new store on Telegraph Way.”
