The United Colors of Benetton will be opening their doors in Kirkby Town Centre over the coming months.
The global clothing brand, with over 4,000 stores, will offer a range of children’s clothing in the heart of the town centre.
This will be Benetton’s second Merseyside store, following the success of a South Liverpool branch on Allerton Road.
The Kirkby store will offer clothes for children aged from 0-12 years alongside a range of accessories.
Work on the internal fit-out of the new store, which is located at 25 St Chad’s Parade, will be starting soon with the store expected to open in February 2022.
Councillor Tony Brennan, Regeneration and Economic Development Cabinet Member, said: “This is yet more great news for Kirkby. A year or so ago, we asked residents and visitors to the town “What makes a good town centre?” – as well as a supermarket, more food and drink outlets and a cinema, people also wanted more clothes shops.
“With that wish in mind, it’s good to secure such a prestigious and well-known brand for Kirkby.
“Our plans to deliver the retail development have progressed at pace over the last 18 months with both KFC and Taco Bell now open. Morrisons are completing their internal fit-out and are expecting to announce their opening soon, with a new and larger Home Bargains store to follow.
“We’re also progressing the cinema scheme and expect the construction to start at the end of this year.
“I’m delighted to welcome Benetton to Kirkby, and I look forward to sharing more details of their opening date over the coming months.
“This really is an exciting time for Kirkby and I’m so proud of what has been achieved over a short period of time.”
