The Government is making changes to the UK electoral system under the Elections Act 2022.
Already, the requirement to show photo ID when voting in person was introduced in May earlier this year when local elections took place.
The next changes will come into effect today (31 October 2023) when residents can apply online for a postal vote.
You can do this by visiting the Government’s website. You will be asked to provide your National Insurance Number.
If you are already registered for a postal vote, you don’t need to do anything. You will be contacted by the Election Team when your postal vote is due for renewal.
If you aren’t registered and you’re unable to apply online, you can apply for a postal vote by ringing the Knowsley Election Team on 0151 443 2222 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
