Pictures show World Book Day celebrations in Knowsley

by Gemma Melling

Children across Knowsley are dressing up as their favourite literary characters today to mark the annual World Book Day.

Whether it’s Harry Potter, the Twits, The Queen of Hearts or Sleeping Beauty, there are some truly imaginative costumes on display in the borough today!

And, it’s not only the children – plenty of teachers are getting into character today too, as photographs shared by schools on Twitter show.

Creating lifelong readers with a love of books

As well as getting dressed up, children at Knowsley’s schools are enjoying a whole host of book themed fun today – inspiring them in all areas of learning and all part of an ethos across the borough to create lifelong readers with a real love for books.

We’re keeping an eye on the best photographs shared on Twitter – and throughout the day we’ll be updating our collection – so check back later to see even more. Perhaps you’ll spot your child’s school in our collection below!
