That’s the message from Knowsley’s Safeguarding Adults Board ahead of National Safeguarding Adults Week (18 – 22 November 2024).
This year’s theme is ‘Working in Partnerships’, and during the week we will be highlighting how important it is for all organisations to work together to share their knowledge of safeguarding, learn from others and ultimately create safer cultures.
Throughout the week, there will also be a series of webinars offered by local Safeguarding Boards across Merseyside, aimed at professionals and highlighting key safeguarding issues.
Most sessions will be delivered via Microsoft Teams while Afta Thought (Alerter Training) will be delivered in person at the Liner Hotel Liverpool.

Cllr Del Arnall, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “National Safeguarding Adults Week is an opportunity for organisations to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues, which is something we all have a responsibility to spot, refer and prevent.
The week, and the webinars on offer are a great way to start conversations about safeguarding, and develop your confidence in recognising signs of abuse and neglect.”
In addition, information and guidance about the different types of abuse or neglect that adults with care and support needs may experience will be shared on social media, profiling the signs to look out for and the actions that we all can take to help keep people safe.
