Work to create an exciting new play park for families in Tower Hill, Kirkby will start on site next week.
The facilities will include two new large play areas incorporating equipment to appeal to a wide range of users of varying ages. The play area will include a variety of swings, inclusive and sensory equipment, large slides and dynamic play elements.
The plans for the new play area have been developed following a public consultation that took place in September 2025 and specifically responds to residents’ desire to see both a junior play area and fenced toddler area. The facilities will provide fun and challenging equipment to appeal to older children and inclusive and accessible equipment for younger children and those with additional needs.
Following a competitive tender process the Council has now appointed contractors to construct the new play area which it is hoped will be up and running in the summer.
The new play area is being delivered thanks to funding from Section 106 developer contributions and a new Pride in Place Playground Fund and further updates will be provided in due course.
