Knowsley Council is delivering a programme of woodland management at Halewood Triangle Park aimed at improving and sustaining the wooded areas for generations to come.
The works, which get underway week commencing 28 October, will help improve the health of the woodland by removing dead and dying trees and increasing space for healthy trees to thrive. This will also improve visibility and bring more light to the wooded areas, supporting biodiversity and the growth of smaller plants.
There will also be the removal of overhanging branches along properties within the Rainbow Drive Estate.
A community consultation was undertaken with residents to discuss the upcoming works and the current programme has been developed to reflect the views of residents and address their concerns about particular trees.
The works will be focused on areas of the woodland that are not currently accessible to the public, due to the density of the trees, so access to the wider park will not be restricted. However, there may be some disruption during working hours due to the machinery in use.
Works are expected to last for two weeks and are being carried out under a licence by Forestry England.
