Recognition of community achievements
Representatives from Willowbrook Hospice in Prescot will attend the meeting and collect a cheque for £883 raised by Knowsey Council staff involved in the authority’s ‘dress down’ donation scheme. Staff who organise the charity initiative will also be invited to the meeting and thanked for their fundraising efforts. The achievement of Knowsley MP George Howarth who received a Knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2019 will also be recognised by members.
Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group Presentation
Dr Andrew Pryce, Chair of Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group, and Ms Dianne Johnson, CCG Chief Executive, will present an update on the work and future direction of the organisation.
Notice of Motion – Adoption of the Working Definition of Islamophobia
Cllr Sean Donnelly, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, will propose a Notice of Motion around the adoption of the working definition of Islamophobia, recommending that the Council adopts the definition promoted by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on British Muslims, i.e. “Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”
