What’s on the agenda at Cabinet: Wednesday 11 September

by KMBC

Knowsley Council’s Cabinet will meet at 5pm on Wednesday 11 September.

Here is a summary of the items on the agenda.

Prescot to Cronton Green Cycleway scheme

Cabinet Members will be asked to approve investment in the delivery of the Prescot to Cronton Green Cycleway scheme and authorise its addition of the Council’s Highways and Transportation Capital Programme.

2018/19 Capital Outturn and 2019/20 Capital Monitoring

Cabinet will receive an update on how the Council’s capital resources were spent during 2018/19, along with the planned programme of expenditure on capital schemes for 2019/20 and future years. These include funding for the Shakespeare North Playhouse, Shakespeare North Rail interchange, Halsnead Garden Village Highways Scheme and Bowring Park restoration.

Community Fund Grant Allocations

Cabinet will be asked to approve grants from the council’s Community Fund – established to support the growth of social enterprise and volunteering in Knowsley – for four initiatives.

Access 2 Opportunities (A2O), based at Centre 63 in Kirkby has applied for £14,000 to help young people gain qualifications and enhance their employability.

A further £7,000 would support the creation of a Fire Cadets Unit at All Saints High School, Kirkby, while Huyton-based First Step social enterprise, which provides the Knowsley Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates Service, has applied for a grant of £20,000. This would provide community volunteers offering on-going support to domestic violence survivors and their children.

If approved a £3,000 grant will enable The Earle Avenue Community Association to install security fencing on the top of an old boundary wall on Roby Road.
