Community Fund Grant Allocations
Cabinet will be asked to approve grants from the council’s Community Fund – established to support the growth of social enterprise and volunteering in Knowsley – for four initiatives.
Access 2 Opportunities (A2O), based at Centre 63 in Kirkby has applied for £14,000 to help young people gain qualifications and enhance their employability.
A further £7,000 would support the creation of a Fire Cadets Unit at All Saints High School, Kirkby, while Huyton-based First Step social enterprise, which provides the Knowsley Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates Service, has applied for a grant of £20,000. This would provide community volunteers offering on-going support to domestic violence survivors and their children.
If approved a £3,000 grant will enable The Earle Avenue Community Association to install security fencing on the top of an old boundary wall on Roby Road.
