What’s on the agenda at Cabinet: Wed 6 April

Knowsley Council’s Cabinet meets tomorrow, Wednesday 6 April. You can view the papers on the council’s website.

Here’s what’s on the agenda:

Uptake of cancer screening programmes in Knowsley, Scrutiny Review. Includes a series of recommendations to encourage residents to undergo screening, including using community leaders to becoming ‘screening champions’.

Findings of a review into the impact of the Government’s welfare reforms, Scrutiny Review. Puts forward recommendations to ensure the council and its partners are providing effective support to residents affected.

Knowsley Housing Strategy 2016-2021. The Cabinet is being asked to endorse this strategy to support future housing development and investment in the borough.

Procurement Strategy and Transformation Plan. The report proposes to update the way in which the council buys services to ensure it can make savings whilst also supporting the local economy, bringing about wider social and environmental benefits for the communities of Knowsley.

Corporate Plan monitoring report. Cabinet will take a look at the progress made against the four priorities in its Corporate Plan, which was agreed in September 2015. The four priorities are: a sustainable budget strategy, sustainable children’s services, improved Adult Social Care and business growth, jobs and housing.

What happens next?

Cabinet will consider these items, along with one exempt item, at the meeting on Wednesday 6 April. The outcome will be published here after the meeting.
