What’s on the agenda at Cabinet, 4 Jan?

by Gemma Melling

Knowsley Council’s Cabinet will meet on Wednesday, 4 January.

You can read the papers in full on the council’s website, but here’s our quick guide to what’s on the agenda:

Consultation into Halsnead Garden Village development

Councillors will hear about plans to hold a public consultation on the masterplan supplementary planning document which is needed to create an ambitious Garden Village style development in Halsnead (located at the junction of the M62 and M57 in Knowsley).

The development will create a vibrant community, attracting new people and families into the area. It will offer a range of high quality housing and provide significant new employment opportunities.  The plans also include a Country Park, a new primary school and improvements to other community and leisure facilities. Read more about what the Halsnead development will look like.

At the Cabinet meeting, councillors will be asked to agree plans to consult the public on the draft masterplan for the development.

Local Plan monitoring report 2015/16

Cabinet will be asked to approve publication of the Local Plan Monitoring Report 2015/16 report and the Joint Merseyside and Halton Waste Local Plan Implementation and Monitoring Report 2015/16. Both reports can be found in the papers for this meeting on the council’s website.
