What’s on the agenda at Cabinet on 18 January?

by Comms Team

The council’s Cabinet meets on Wednesday 18 January 2017. Here is a guide to the items on the agenda:

Review of Environmental Services

Members will consider the outcome of a review into Environmental Services in the borough, carried out by the Place Policy and Performance Committee.

The Committee has put forward a number of recommendations aimed at improving the delivery of the services, including street cleansing and grounds maintenance.

Household waste and green waste collection

Cabinet will consider a change to green waste collections in Knowsley which, if agreed, would mean that, from 6 March 2017, residents would receive their blue bin (garden waste) collections once every three weeks.

The frequency of Knowsley’s general waste (maroon bin) and recycling collections (grey bin) would remain unchanged and would continue to be provided on a fortnightly basis. However, if the item is agreed, a number of residents would see a change to their collection day.

Children and Young People’s Plan 2017-2020

Members of the Cabinet will be asked to consider the draft Children and Young People’s Plan 2017-2020, which aims to provide strategic direction for the delivery of positive outcomes for children and young people in Knowsley.

If Cabinet endorses the plan, it will be referred to a full meeting of the Council on 25 January for formal approval.
