We’re still here to help

by Cathy Sheel

Knowsley’s Community Support and Volunteer Line is still here to help those needing extra support during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Following the recent increase in Covid 19 cases in Knowsley and the likelihood that more people will need to self-isolate in the coming weeks and months, residents are reminded that they can call the freephone helpline on 0800 073 0043 if they have been asked to self-isolate and have NO means of support from friends, family, or neighbours.

The helpline was created at the outset of the lockdown in March to support people 70 or over, and those with underlying health conditions, as well as those who are self-isolating without support from family and friends, and people facing financial hardship.

You can get in touch if you need help with:

  • Shopping
  • Dog walking
  • Collecting prescriptions
  • Or just to have a friendly voice just to speak to

The helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, 10am – 2pm at weekends and Bank Holidays. If you are calling about a non-urgent matter over the weekend, you will be asked to leave a message and a hub operative will return your call on Monday.
