Extra Care housing is housing designed for people who are predominantly over the age of 55 years and offers the benefit of independent living with on-site support available when needed.
Extra care homes help to support residents to live independently, but it also provides added reassurance that domiciliary support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week if needed.
At Arncliffe Gardens, you’ll find 77 one and two-bedroom affordable apartments which include a lounge, fitted kitchen, bathroom and wet room, bedrooms and storage.
Of these, 58 are aimed at over 55’s with a housing and support need, as well as a separate wing with 19 homes for younger people with learning disabilities, autism or mental ill health.
Residents also have access to communal facilities including a hair salon, assisted bathroom, guest room for families and sensory garden with a seating area as well as a range of activities including bingo and coffee mornings, providing opportunities to socialise with other residents.
Smoke and heat detectors are installed in all apartments. There’s also a laundry room, a store for electric mobility scooters and lifts to each of the floors.
