Voting in this year’s General Election

A General Election has been called for Thursday 4 July 2024.

Postal Votes

If you have applied for a postal vote, it will be sent to you around 21 June 2024.

If you have not received your postal vote by Friday 28 June 2024, please call the Elections Team on 0151 443 2222.

The deadline for applying for a postal vote in this year’s General Election has now closed (it was 5pm on 19 June 2024).

Postal votes need to be received by 10pm on Thursday 4 July 2024. If you miss the post, you can hand your postal vote in at the Council Offices at Huyton Municipal Building during office hours to a person authorised to receive postal votes (please ask for a member of Democratic Services) or at any polling station in the electoral area before 10pm on Thursday 4 July 2024.

When handing in your postal vote, you will be required to complete a declaration form.

Proxy Votes

You can also apply for a proxy vote by contacting Knowsley’s Election Team via email at elections@knowsley.gov.uk or by calling 0151 443 2222. The deadline for applying for a proxy vote is 5pm on 26 June 2024.

Photo ID needed if voting in person

Remember, if you are voting in person, you need to show photo ID. Accepted ID includes a passport, driving licence, blue badge, a proof of age card, travel concessionary cards, Biometric Immigration document, Defence Identity Card or National Identity Card.  A full list of accepted ID can be viewed here.

If you don’t have any registered form of photo ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate here. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.

You can find a list of persons nominated is available on the Council’s website.

Polling Stations

On Thursday 4 July 2024, polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.

If you vote in person, your nearest polling station will be printed on your Poll Card.
