Volair Huyton and Volair Kirkby welcomed 1,500 visitors on Wednesday 16 September as part of a free open day to celebrate National Fitness Day.
The day was free to attend and included an increased GroupX timetable, DJs, giveaways, prizes and partner organisations attending throughout the day.
A host of local clubs, community organisations, charities and other agencies were in attendance to provide valuable advice on wellness, longevity, and staying active for life.
Money was also raised Woodland Hospice, with attendees donating to support a worthy cause.
Cllr Christine Bannon, Cabinet Member for Health, attended the open day to meet some of the people taking part. She said: “It was fantastic to see the community come together to enjoy a day of fitness and fun and to also make a valuable contribution to charity. I hope it will encourage even more people to get active and take their first steps towards a healthier lifestyle.”
In addition to the open day at Volair Huyton and Volair Kirkby, all swimming, gym and group fitness classes at Volair Stockbridge were free on the day, with gym and group fitness classes also free at Volair Halewood.
