Visit to the Resource and Recovery Centre

by Gemma Melling

Cllr Christine Bannon, Cabinet Member for Health, recently visited Mersey Care’s Resource and Recovery Centre, based on the Whiston Hospital Site.

During her visit, she met with staff to hear about the range of services and the help and support they provide, as well as having a tour around the centre and speaking to service users.

The Resource and Recovery Centre provides a range of support to children, young people and adults including adult inpatient care,  mental health support as well as eating disorder support to children and young people.

Cllr Christine Bannon said: “I’d like to thank the amazing staff at Mersey Care’s Resource and Recovery Centre for taking the time to show me around the centre and share examples of the amazing work they are doing to support our residents.

“It was great to hear about the mental health prevention activities that are provided by the staff and how their support is having a huge impact on residents.

“Thank you to everyone who took the time to show me around and share their work with me. I came away truly inspired by your work and the support you provide to residents.”
