A recruitment event with a difference is taking place in Knowsley next month – as the council seeks to take on a number of experienced social workers to work in several of its specialist teams.
The Knowsley Social Work Academy Virtual Recruitment Event takes place on March 16 – World Social Work Day. It will be a chance for registered social workers to hear more about working for Knowsley Council – where social workers receive high quality support and development opportunities and caseloads are kept to manageable levels.
With social workers much in demand across the country, the council hopes the Virtual Event will show potential candidates that Knowsley is a place where their careers can thrive and they’ll be given the time they need to do the job they love, well.
At the event, attendees will hear first-hand from current social workers and managers about what it’s like to join the team at Knowsley. They’ll also hear from young people whose lives have been improved by the support they’ve received. There will then be a series of workshops to take part in and the chance to find out more about the range of opportunities available right now in the borough.
And there’s one big difference to this recruitment event – as candidates will not be expected to spend hours beforehand preparing their CV or filling in an application form, without knowing if they’ll even get an interview. Instead, anyone with a social work qualification, who is interested in finding out more about the opportunities at Knowsley Council, can simply log on to the event and find out more. If they like what they hear, they can choose to go straight to a virtual interview there and then!
