At this time, with many families at home together and parents trying to juggle work, childcare and home schooling, a “hints and top tips” document has been produced for parents / carers to help them through this challenging time.
From trying to maintain a daily routine, to planning meals and recipes together, rewarding yourself (and your children) at the end of a busy week, creating artwork together and staying connected there’s lots of information to help you through the next few weeks, or even months.
Plus, there’s lots of useful links to websites with further advice, support and activities for you and your family. This includes the Knowsley Support and Help Line – available 7 days a week through Freephone 0800 073 0043 – available for people who want to volunteer to support their local community as well as residents who need help and support with things like their shopping or picking up medication.
Cllr Margaret Harvey, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said “This can be a particularly difficult and stressful time for some families, who may be struggling to ensure their children are entertained. This document offers practical support – for parents / carers and the rest of the household – providing new ideas, inspiration and fun to help you and your family at this challenging time. It also lets you know that you are not alone and there is lots of help and support available if you need it.”
