The Works is coming to Kirkby!

More great news for Kirkby Town Centre as The Works has confirmed it will be opening a new store at 22 St Chad’s Parade.

Internal fit-out works will now begin, with the retailer set to open its doors on Thursday, 27 August.

The arrival of The Works will provide shoppers with even greater choice and further strengthen the town centre’s retail offer.

The Works, one of the UK’s leading value retailers, offers an extensive range of affordable books, arts and crafts, toys, games, stationery and family gifts. The new Kirkby store will become part of The Works’ nationwide portfolio of more than 500 stores, bringing a popular and well-established retail brand to the town centre and providing local shoppers with even greater choice.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said “I’m delighted to welcome The Works to Kirkby town centre. We know from our consultations with local residents that they wanted a diverse offer in the town, and The Works will be a welcome new addition.

“We know that high streets across the country are changing and our town centre offers a wide variety of traditional retail as well as family-friendly activities, childcare providers, places to meet, learn new skills and take part in activities such as Pilates.

“Plus, we have our second phase of retail commencing, with Lidl constructing a store on Telegraph Way.

“It really is an exciting time for Kirkby, and I look forward to seeing The Works progressing and opening in the town shortly.”
