The Oven Pizzeria is the latest new restaurant to open in Prescot town centre.
Situated on Eccleston Street, it is run by Vik and Anthony who opened the doors to the town’s new addition in June.
With its own pizza oven imported from Italy, the family friendly restaurant also has an area for children’s parties where children can get involved by making their own pizzas. And along one whole wall of the restaurant is a graffiti style artwork inspired by famous Italian landmarks and buildings.
Vik and Anthony said: “We chose Prescot because we are both local and live in the area. We heard about all of the exciting things happening in the town and the new theatre that will soon be here and we thought it would be a great place for us to open a restaurant.”
Award winning chef
On Thursday 4 July, award winning pizza chef, Marco Fuso visited The Oven for one night only. Marco has awards for Pizza chef of the Year 2017, Best Margherita UK 2018, 1st place at the National Pizza Award technical category 2018 and he was selected by Just Eat in the 5 Best take away chef in UK 2018!
Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development said: “I’m delighted to welcome Vik and Anthony and their new restaurant to Prescot. This supports the council’s plans to attract more businesses and food and drink outlets into the town so that residents and visitors have a choice of places to eat, drink and shop. And there definitely is a great choice!
“Along with the physical improvements to Eccleston Street and other fantastic developments, including the Shakespeare North Playhouse and Market Place, Prescot is certainly a place that people want to be, for business and pleasure.”
The Oven Pizzeria is open Wednesday – Sunday 11.30am – 10pm serving a selection of freshly made pizzas, flatbreads and sides.
