The hilarious Rubbish Shakespeare Company is live in Knowsley!

by Sandra Issar

Following last month’s smash-hit ‘Shakespeare Shorts’, the nationally renowned five star Rubbish Shakespeare Company present another madcap plays premiering on Knowsley Libraries Facebook @knowsleylibraries on Thursday 24 September at 10am.

Featuring the hilarious retelling of William Shakespeare’s beloved classic ‘Antony and Cleopatra’.

Thanks to Knowsley’s arts in libraries project, sail along the river Nile and witness a titanic clash between the feuding ancient empires of Egypt and Rome, all caused by the doomed romance of ‘Antony and Cleopatra’.

Expect wigs, football stickers, bed sheet togas and more, as these wild and wacky interpretations tickle your funny bone – even though it’s a tragedy! Perfect for all ages, from 4-104!

If you can’t catch the live capers don’t despair you can still watch the madcap play for four weeks on Knowsley Libraries Facebook @knowsleylibraries.

Funded through the Arts Council England the event is part of GEM (Great Emerging Marvellous Places); Culture Development and Events Service’s project giving more people access to art and culture in local libraries.
