The Archive is reopening!

by Sandra Issar

Knowsley Archives Service is reopening to pre-book a search room appointment from Monday 17 May.

Staff are delighted to welcome you back to The ARK, although initially on an appointment-only basis.

Bookings will be available in 2-hour slots: Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10am to12 noon and 2pm to 4pm; Thursday 10am to 12 noon.

The safety of customers and staff is paramount, and we will admit only one researcher in the search room at a time (unless exemptions apply) and a face covering must be worn throughout your visit, unless you are exempt.

All bookings must be made at least 72 hours in advance and the materials which you would like to view must be pre-ordered at the time of booking. Unfortunately, we will not be able to produce items on your visit which have not been pre-ordered.

You can search both the online catalogue and the analogue catalogue for the required item references.

Bookings can be made by telephone 0151 443 4291 or email infoheritage@knowsley.gov.uk

For the time being we will not be offering a walk-in service and our group and community activities remain suspended.

For further information about booking your visit, links to the catalogues and a full description of the measures we have put in place, please visit our website Booking a visit to the Archive – Knowsley Local History
