Action has been taken against ten young people for causing anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Prescot Town Centre.
The ten individuals had been causing ASB and were being abusive to shoppers, business owners and residents. Incidents predominantly took place within the last two weeks of August.
Knowsley Council has issued Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) to the individuals, aged between 12 and 16, which means they can no longer visit Prescot Town Centre or Cables Retail Park unless under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
Breaches of the Agreements can lead to further action being taken against the individuals. People in breach of ABAs can even put their home at risk if they are found to be in breach of their tenancy agreement.
Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: “Action has been taken against these young people thanks to close partnership working between the Council’s Community Safety team and Knowsley Police. The action taken highlights that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated and has no place in our town centres.”
CCTV
Knowsley’s CCTV network of more than 1,150 cameras is monitored 24/7. The Council Control room has direct access to Merseyside Police’s Command and Control Room, which means the police can be immediately notified of any incidents of crime and anti-social behaviour occurring and police patrols can be deployed accordingly.
